Rear Admiral Douglas & Marie Schumann

“Mr. Schumann has made a huge an impact upon the lives of the children we serve here in Central New Mexico, particularly those who have used the Rio Rancho Club as a place to learn, live and grow,” said Tim Sheahan, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Mexico. “We are excited to honor Mr. Schumann and his late wife Marie by dedicating our Club in their honor. Mr. Schumann’s support of this Club has already opened countless doors to Great Futures for our members, and it will continue to open doors for years to come.”

Douglas Schumann, a Louisiana native, settled in Rio Rancho with his wife Marie in 1987 following a successful naval and international business career. The couple joined the Kiwanis Club in Rio Rancho and stayed active in volunteerism and community service until Marie’s passing in 2003. Mr. Schumann has since served as Lieutenant Governor for Division Two of the Kiwanis Club and is past president of the Rio Rancho Kiwanis Club. Mr. Schumann’s endowment benefitting the Rio Rancho branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Mexico is his most recent gift to the Rio Rancho community.
